COMING SOON: Middle School Access Program

At Navigate, we know that Black and Latino students have the talent and potential to thrive in high-performing schools—but too often, they lack the resources and access needed to get there. Navigate exists to bridge that gap, ensuring that academically gifted students have the preparation and support to enter schools that will challenge, inspire, and position them for long-term success.

To expand this mission, we are launching an accelerated learning program designed for elementary school students preparing for admission to gifted and talented middle schools in District 21, including Mark Twain I.S. 239 for the Gifted and Talented.

Similar to our SHSAT program, this initiative will provide:
Early exposure to advanced concepts
Rigorous academic preparation
Mentorship and admissions guidance

By capturing students early in their academic journey, we are setting them on a trajectory toward high-performing middle and high schools, creating opportunities that will transform their futures, their families, and their communities.

Three-Week Summer Program: Learning & Fun!

We know that fifth graders learn best when they are engaged, so our summer program blends academic preparation with fun activities to keep students excited about learning. During these three weeks, students will:

  • • Learn computer science and math to prepare for the Math & Science talent assessments

  • • Engage in interactive lessons and problem-solving challenges

  • • Enjoy fun activities that build confidence and a love of learning while reinforcing key academic skills.

Weekly Assignments & One-on-One Mentorship

To ensure continued growth, students will receive weekly assignments and meet with their instructor for 30-minute check-ins until they take the middle school admissions test. This personalized approach keeps students on track and motivated throughout the process.

Parental Support: Helping Families Navigate the Process

Parents play a critical role in their child's success. We provide guidance on the middle school application process, including:

• Registering for admissions tests

• Understanding school options

• Supporting students throughout the transition
