Supporting Students Through High School

Navigate the Maze to Achievement provides ongoing academic, social, and leadership support to ensure that our students excel in their high-performing high schools. We recognize that students need more than just strong academics—they need mentorship, career exposure, and a community of support to help them navigate rigorous environments.

Academic Support

  • • Tutoring & Study Support: Students have access to one-on-one tutoring to strengthen their skills in challenging coursework.

  • • AP & Honors Course Guidance: We encourage students to enroll in advanced courses and support them when selecting intensive classes that will help them reach their full potential.

  • • Time Management & Study Skills Workshops: Students learn how to balance their workload, prioritize tasks, and build effective study habits.

Mentorship & Community Building

  • • Big Brother/Big Sister Program: Incoming high school students are paired with older Navigators who provide guidance, encouragement, and advice on navigating high school.

  • • Workshops & Speaker Series: Students attend career exploration and leadership workshops featuring professionals, alumni, and guest speakers.

  • • Networking & Peer Support: We foster a strong sense of community among students, ensuring they have a reliable support system throughout high school.

Paid Employment Opportunities

  • • Tutoring & Classroom Assistance: High school students have the opportunity to work as paid tutors and teacher assistants, supporting younger Navigators with the SHSAT and middle school coursework.

Leadership & Career Exposure

  • • Internships & Summer Programs: We connect students with internships, summer programs, and enrichment opportunities that allow them to explore different career paths.

  • • Project-Based Learning: Students develop real-world skills by working on group projects and community initiatives that foster leadership and problem-solving abilities.
